Comprehension of the text (30%): Clear understanding of the major theme and its intellectual context. Research of unfamiliar terms, or ideas. Correct interpretation of arguments and good grasp of details and examples. Understanding of specialized vocabulary for an outstanding score, not being able to explain and present the major arguments, not understanding notions (postulates) and terms in the article for a below average score. |

Presentation (15%): Originality of approach, interest in topic, amount of information, use of visual aids, apparent degree of effort for outstanding score, minimal effort, no originality, carelessness for below avg. score. |

Vocabulary and Fluency (15%): Extensive, precise, accurate vocabulary for outstanding; limited and/or repetitive with misused words for below average score. Speaking (NOT READING!) with adequate speed and length for outstanding score; frequent pauses relying on reading WILL EARN A BELOW AVERAGE SCORE! |
