Web Writing Checklist
- Always keep CRAPP principles in
mind
- Use an interesting typeface--don't
rely on the default Times New Roman or Arial
- In general use a sans serif typeface
for text on the web
- Avoid ALL CAPS and long sections
of italics
- Avoid background textures--not in
vogue!
- Don't mix graphic genres; stick to
all photos or all drawings
- Don't double-space text
- Don't indent paragraphs
- Be sure ALL edges align when possible
(Text chunks, photos, tops and bottoms of cells, etc.)
- Be sure ALL links work on ALL pages
- Be sure to check "resample picture to
match size" when you see the tiny picture icon appear in the bottom
right corner of a picture you have placed in Frontpage. Resampling
makes for faster downloading.
- Each webpage should have a Page Title
that identifies the purpose of the page.
- Break up long sections of text with
heads, subheads and graphics or photos.
- Don't put colons (:) after Heads or
Subheads
- Don't leave borders on tables
